About Us

All my life I have suffered with eczema and sensitivity to soaps. I wanted to use something more natural for myself and my family. I especially wanted to limit the use of chemicals on my children. I started reading about goat milk soap and its benefits. That’s when Baa Basics started.

I have six pasture raised goats, four were bottled raised and two are rescues. I breed my goats and sell the babies to pay for their hay which is grown by a neighbor. I hand milk one of my does after their babies are gone and make goat milk soap.  I have been using the goat milk soap for over a year and have noticed a significant improvement with my eczema. I’d like to share with you what I have learned about the benefits of using goat milk soap.
Goat milk soap is wonderful for people with dry or sensitive skin or has skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.  Goat milk soap contains Alpha Hydroxyl Acids which helps to remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. This leaves your skin looking healthier, smoother and younger looking. Goat Milk Soap is high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin and maintain healthy skin. Research has shown that creams and soaps with Vitamin A reduce lines and wrinkles and control acne. The fat molecules in the cream of goat milk help to boost the moisturizing quality of the soap. This is particularly important for people with dry skin and during the winter months. This is important because keeping skin naturally moisturized helps keep skin healthy.
Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin, like Selenium. Scientists believe that Selenium has an important role in preventing skin cancer. Selenium also helps to prevent damage to skin from excessive sun exposure.
Each batch is handmade by cold process and poured into a mold. After 24 hours, the soap is unmolded and set on a shelf to cure for 4 weeks. The result is a hard, longer lasting bar with a rich lather. I take pride in each and every batch that I make. I always enjoy the uniqueness of each batch.   To make your bar last longer, place in soap dish out of standing water.
